iWake for iPhone and Android
Short, because there is little to say.
Nothing. There is no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising identifier. iWake makes no network request of its own. Two things outside the app use the network on its behalf and are described below: the platform's purchase system, and — on Android only — the Google ML Kit library that recognises what the camera sees, which reports usage and performance diagnostics to Google. (This website is a separate thing and does have a mailing list, if you ask for it — see below.)
All of it lives in this app's own container. Deleting the app deletes the alarms and the wake record with it.
The camera is used only while a room scan or a camera-counted exercise is running. Frames are compared on the device and discarded; no photograph or video is taken, stored, transmitted, or written to your photo library. The motion sensors and the pedometer are read only while a task that needs them is running, and only the count is used.
On iPhone the recognition is Apple's, built into iOS, and nothing leaves the phone. On Android it is Google's ML Kit library, running on the device: no image leaves the phone, but ML Kit reports usage and performance diagnostics to Google — device model, OS version, the app's package name and version, a per-installation identifier, and which features were used and how they performed — under Google's own privacy policy. iWake cannot switch this off and does not see it. It is the only thing the Android app ever sends.
iWake Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by the platform — Apple on iPhone, Google Play on Android. The store tells the app whether the purchase is owned; the app never sees your name, your email or your payment details. It is the store's system rather than ours.
THE APP AND THE WEBSITE ARE NOT THE SAME THING, and this section exists so that the sentence at the top of this page stays true. The app collects nothing. This website, if you type an address into the box asking to be told when iWake ships, keeps three things: the address, the day it arrived, and the two-letter country the connection came from — the last one because which countries want this decides what gets translated next. Your IP address is not kept.
It is used to send you that email and nothing else. It is never sold, never shared, and never joined up with anything from the app — there is nothing in the app to join it to. Ask at support@iwake.app and the address is deleted the same day, or use the unsubscribe line in any email.
Typing an address into a web page is a choice somebody made. Setting an alarm is not, and the two are kept apart on purpose.
iWake collects no data from anybody, of any age. The mailing list above is for the website and is not offered to, or intended for, children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will appear on this page.
